INCREASING ELECTRICITY COSTS? WE HAVE THE ANSWER!

Posted by admin On June - 29 - 2009

TIRED OF INCREASING ELECTRICITY COSTS? INSTEAD of PAYING IT to ESKOM pay it to your CREDIT CARD and at least get something for it!!!

CUT R350-00 per month of your current electricity bill by converting your existing geyser to accomodate a high efficiency evacuated solar heating panel. This amount will even be more with larger geysers and larger  families.

CAPE TOWN has more than enough U.V. Rays (ultra violet) to heat an average size geyser 365 days of the year with little or no electrical assistance. This is a fact. I have a system installed at my home 12 months ago- From Sept to May I ran my house hot water needs entirely on the evacuated solar heating system. IT WORKS!!!!!

We supply and install:

  • 1x Evacuated solar tube panel to suite existing geyser size

  • 1x AC Low Wattage circulation pump

  • 1x P6 Advanced Solar Control Panel to regulate the AC circulation pump

  • 1x Copper conversion fitting water jet

How it works:

When the sun comes up, the evacuated solar panel produces heat. The circulation pump draws the water from your geyser, pushes it through the evacuated solar tube panel heat exchanger and returns it back to your geyser. The circulation pump will only switch on if the P6 Advanced Solar controller instructs it to do so. The instruction will only happen if the P6 advanced controller detects that the evacuated solar panel is 10′C hotter than the geyser water temperature. This process is continued throughout the day, until the sun goes down and the pump automatically switches off. The Geyser thermostat temperature can be adjust using the P6 Advanced Control Panel as well as the element run times as back up. This ensures that on days where there is absolutely no UV rays around, you will still have warm water. On average you can expect to save between R300 to R600 per month, depending on your water usage demand.

Solar Pool Heaters - Solar Swimming Pool Heating System

Will solar pool heating work in the CAPE?
Absolutely! In the past 9 years, we have installed almost 100,000 solar pool heating systems in the Western Cape. With this experience to rely on, we know that when properly sized and installed, a solar pool heating system in the Western cape will provide 8 – 15 degrees over an unheated pool from September to May each year.

Generally that means our customers are swimming in 22 – 30 degree water for five months. Take a look at our referrals page to see comments from just a few of the happy customers that are enjoying longer, more comfortable swim seasons using our system!

How does solar pool heating work?
Pool owners have been using solar energy for over 30 years to provide themselves a longer, more comfortable swim season with no operating costs! Solar pool heaters are clean and simple:

1. Using your existing pool pump, the pool water is circulated to the solar collectors. Though usually roof-mounted, the collectors can also be mounted on a rack or flat on the ground.

2. The pool water enters the solar collectors from the bottom and circulates through the individual tubes to the top. While the water passes through the tubes, it is warmed by the sun’s radiant energy.

3. Most systems are installed with an automatic temperature controller. Typically the pool owner sets the desired temperature at the beginning of the season. When the pool water is below the desired temperature and there is heat on the panels, an automatic valve will open to allow the water to feed into the solar panels. When the pool water reaches the desired temperature, the automatic valve will close and send the water directly into the pool. The valve will also close on unseasonably cool or cloudy days to prevent undesired cooling.

4. After circulating through the panels, the warm water is fed back to the pool. If a conventional heater (e.g. heat pump/gas/oil) is in place, the water will pass through the heater before returning to the pool. Most of our customers do not use a conventional heater.

How much does it cost and what will I save?
The price of a solar pool heater varies significantly based on the size of the swimming pool. The range is from less than R5,000 for a small pool to R15,000 for a large pool.

These prices include all materials, installation, and the 12-year manufacturer’s parts and labor warranty.

Savings depend on the type of alternative pool heater against which solar is compared. Conventional heaters (gas/oil/propane) generally cost less upfront but are expensive to operate. Electric heat pumps require about one-third of the fuel cost of conventional heaters, but are generally comparable to solar in upfront price. On average, the payback on solar pool heaters compared to alternative systems is 1.5 – 3 years. See our chart for a quick snapshot of the typical installation and operating costs of the various pool heating options.

Perhaps more importantly, you will save the environment 6.4 tons of damaging greenhouse gas emissions per year! Right now, solar pool heating is the most cost effective way to use clean, free solar energy. Save money and the environment while enjoying a longer swim season!

POOL HEATING SUCCESS by HI-TEMP

Posted by admin On June - 3 - 2009

To Management of Hi- Temp, Killarney Gardens.

Having retired and not having much in the back pocket the wife and I took the bold step to spoil ourselves and have our pool heated. After phoning many companies we chose Hi-Temp. The system was fitted (Invoice 5088 ). We have enjoyed many happy hour’s in the pool. On the 10-3-2008 we noticed a leak on the roof. Having a 12 year warranty I said to the wife that I would give Hi-Temp a call, not holding out much hope as once a purchase has been paid for the guarantee is brushed under the carpet, by most companies. Well I could not have been more wrong. When I phoned the gentleman ( and I do apologies ) for not remembering his name, He told me that he had a fellow working in Hout Bay, ( we are in Fish Hoek ) and would dispatch him ASAP. True to his word Herman and his assistant were at our door within the next hour. The job was completed in record time. I would like to thank you all for a job well done. Hi-Temp for keeping there promise of after sale service, and to the staff, they are truly an asset to your company.
