We offer pool Solar Pool Heating Systems to our customers.Depending upon pool’s geographic location, roof orientation, pool configuration, heating requirements, etc, we offer best of solar heating systems.

We have done extensive research on Solar Panels and companies installing Solar Water Heating Systems Solar energy firms provide installation solutions for solar hot water that produce hot water from the suns natural resources by utilising a solar panel installed on the roof of your property. There is a lot of confusion in the market as to which are the best solar panel systems to buy for a swimming pool in SA; that will operate throughout winter as well as the hot summer months.
Solar pool heating works from having solar collectors heat swimming pool water being circulated by the existing pool pump. A swimming pool heater sometimes goes through a heat exchanger. All a solar system does is have an extra heating exchanger on the feed before you current swimming pool heater. There fore what the solar system’s providing is pre heated water going through your existing pool heating system. Because the water is going through at a higher temperature your boiler uses less energy heating the pool water up.
There are limited professional Solar Panel Heating companies at the moment providing reliable solar systems that work well in the SA climate. The SA Solar Panel market is untapped increasing high demand on reliable plumbing and heating engineers. Solar energy companies have got to invest in training heating engineers to install solar panels to meeting the building regulations which are stricter than the rest of Africa. If you are having a solar heating system or solar pool system installed by a company it is advised to choose a reputable established installer.

Environmental Issue: Solar Power for One Million Roofs

Posted by admin On September - 30 - 2008

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Million Solar Roofs Initiative is an ambitious project, but it’s important to America in terms of generating and conserving energy. The Initiative proposes to install solar energy systems in one million U.S. buildings by the year 2010.The project was first announced on June 26, 1997, by President Bill Clinton in a speech delivered to a United Nations session on Environment and Development.
Evacuated tubes are the absorber of the solar water heater. They absorb solar energy converting it into heat for use in water heating. Each evacuated tube consists of two glass tubes made from extremely strong borosilicate glass. The outer tube is transparent allowing light rays to pass through with minimal reflection. The inner tube is coated with a special selective coating (Al-N/Al) which features excellent solar radiation absorption and minimal reflection properties. The top of the two tubes are fused together and the air contained in the space between the two layers of glass is pumped out while exposing the tube to high temperatures. This “evacuation” of the gasses forms a vacuum, which is an important factor in the performance of the evacuated tubes. The vacuum in the evacuated glass tube is less than 5

How Does Solar Power Work?

Posted by admin On September - 29 - 2008

The basics of solar power.Solar power is probably the cleanest, most viable form of renewable energy available and it can be used in several forms to help power your house. Many gardens now use solar lights or solar garden water features. The availability and wide use of solar power in gardens shows exactly how versatile it is as a source of energy. The technology and the systems are becoming smaller, more compact and better looking than when they were first created and used.
Thermosiphon takes place When the sun comes up. The water in the evacuated solar tube panel begins to circulate from the solar geyser through the evacuated solar tube panel and back. The process is continued throughout the day, until the sun goes down. We adjust your geyser thermostat to 40′C so that on days where there is absolutely no UV rays around, you will still have warm water. If there is a power failure, thermosiphon effect will still take place, which guarantees hot water irrespective of power failures.

Solar Power Saves on Electricity Bills

Posted by admin On September - 28 - 2008

A typical solar system will reduce the need for conventional water heating by about two-thirds. Often the plumbing from a solar heater connects to a houses existing water heater, which stays inactive as long as the water coming in is hot or hotter than the temperature setting on the indoor water heater. When it falls below this temperature, the homes water heater can kick in to make up the difference. Incorporating passive solar designs can reduce heating bills by as much as 50 percent.
Make the most of your investment. With Hi*Temp solar heating your pool can be used for eight months, or more, of the year. With Hi*Temp SOLAR and energy from the sun, you can use you pool August through May.

Extend Your Swimming Season With A Pool Heater

Posted by admin On September - 28 - 2008

A titanium heatpump pool heater makes sense if only to guarantee year ’round swimming. Taking a dip in the pool following a night where temperatures dropped into the teens is an unpleasant experience; it take hours for the water temperature to rebound to an acceptable level.

When it comes to choosing pool heaters, you have two choices, South Africa to consider: a solar heater,  or a heat pump heater. Costs start around the R4000, but the most economically efficient heater is also the one that is the most environmentally complementary: a solar heater.

Types of Pool Heaters

Let’s take a look at the types of pool heaters:

Solar Pool Heaters — The key ingredient for a solar pool heater to successfully do its job is sunshine. The more sunny days you have as well as exposure to direct sunlight, the better.

Without going into explicit detail, a solar pool heater consists of four parts: a solar collector (which can be placed on the roof of your home, on a nearby garage, or on top of some other stable outdoor building; a filter; pump; and a flow control valve. Pool water is pumped out of the pool through the collector and back into the pool once it has been heated. You’ll still burn some energy via the electric or gas pump that operates the system, but you’ll use a lot less fuel than had you selected the other choices.

Heat Pump Pool Heaters - a heat pump captures heat via electricity. Air that circulates through the unit is heated up and turned into a R22 gas which then heats the water that circulates through the titanium coil with the help of a condenser, compressor, and titanium heating coils to warm up the water.

Finally, a swimming pool heater can add value to your home as a heated pool is a more attractive selling point for the buyer who enjoys swimming and wants to extend their swimming season beyond its limits.

A Portable Solar Power Battery Charger Can Be A Lifesaver

Posted by admin On September - 28 - 2008

Most people these days are weighed down by a variety of portable electronic devices. All these devices use batteries, with charges that last from a few hours to a several days. If you are one of these people, you know how inconvenient it is when your cell phone or laptop’s battery die when there is no electric outlet available that you can use to charge your battery. It is at times like these that a portable solar power battery charger will come in really handy.

Using Solar for Household heating

Posted by admin On September - 27 - 2008

A solar heating system is used for heating purposes by using solar energy instead of conventional energy sources like fossil fuels (coal, oil, and gas) or electricity. In simple terms, a solar heating system focuses solar heat on a fluid (air or water) held in its collectors. According to the mechanism of driving the fluid through the system, there are two main types of solar heating systems: active systems and passive systems. Active solar heating systems use a pumping mechanism to drive the fluid through the collector while passive systems make use of natural convection in fluids to get them moving through the collectors. Active solar heating systems are more practical to install at home and are thus recommended for household heating purposes. In addition, they are more cost effective than passive systems.

Selecting a Solar Heating System

A number of factors need to be considered while selecting a solar heating system for home use. Some of these include the location of the house, its design, and the heating needs. In addition, the local climate and the type of system collectors determine the production of heat by the system. In general, the customer should select a system that can meet over 50% of the household heating needs. It is both not practical and not cost-effective to purchase a system that would meet all the heating needs. The best strategy is to keep a back-up heating system (fuel or electricity) for use in case the solar heating system fails to serve the purpose or goes out of order.

Cost of an Active Solar Heating System

The cost of an active solar system for heating houses varies, depending on several factors. Usually, the present cost of an active solar heating system ranges from R300 to R900 for each square meter of the collector area. This is particularly helpful in cutting low the heating costs in winter. Above all, solar heating systems do not pollute the environment with noxious emissions like those produced by fossil fuels.

Installation and Maintenance

Ideally, a solar heating system should be designed and installed by an experienced contractor. The maintenance measures for the system depend on its type, usually averaging between 8 to 16 hours of maintenance each year. In the majority of case, the home insurance policy covers the maintenance costs of solar water heating systems.

Is There A Waterproof Solar Charger?

Posted by admin On September - 27 - 2008

Many people using solar chargers want to know if there is a waterproof solar charger available. Most of these people who like to use their solar chargers while at the beach are afraid that the water splashing around will ruin their chargers. Solar chargers are very durable and most can withstand the normal splashing that occurs at the beach. The sun power that is used to operate a solar charger is a great way for people at the beach to keep their electrical devices running.
Please note that swimming pool water temperatures may vary from suburb to suburb and house to house. For example:- suburbs near the coast or in a wind belt generally require additional panels to achieve higher swimming pool water temperatures. Pool pump/filter sizes also effect the overall efficiency of your pool heating system. As a “rule of thumb” we recommend equal solar panel sqm to swimming pool sqm as well as a heat retention blanket.
